Lesson formats
At Education Station, we offer three lesson formats so that every child can learn in the way that suits them best:
English
Lessons with a native English speaker are the most effective way for a child to learn correct pronunciation and full language usage. The teacher – a native speaker – passes on not dry grammar, but living, everyday language with proper pronunciation, intonation, and cultural nuances. The child learns to speak correctly, think in English rather than translate in their head, and from the very first lesson enters a language environment where speaking comes naturally.
At Education Station, English can be learned in three formats – group, pair, and individual lessons. In a group, they gain confidence speaking in a collective setting; in pair lessons, they receive more individual attention; and in individual lessons, they achieve the fastest progress with complete focus on their pronunciation and personalized tasks. All formats are united by Education Station’s goal – for the child to speak English correctly, naturally, and without fear.
Latvian
Education Station’s Latvian language lessons are intended for everyone, regardless of whether it is their native language, the child is growing up in a bilingual family, or they are starting to learn Latvian as a foreign language. Everyone has their own starting point, and one common goal – for the language to become understandable and easy to use in everyday life.
These lessons are especially relevant for bilingual children starting school in Latvian – we help your child feel confident, improve their speaking skills, and integrate into the classroom environment without stress.
Russian
Currently, Russian is practically not taught in schools, so we offer the opportunity to continue learning it at Education Station. Whether your child already has basic knowledge that you want to maintain and develop further, they are growing up in a bilingual family and want to strengthen their language skills, or they want to learn the language from scratch – our teachers will help them achieve their goal and develop Russian language skills. Russian remains an important communication tool, and we provide the opportunity to learn it in a high-quality and engaging way.
Academic support
Often, a child experiences difficulties in one of their subjects – for some reason, a topic was not fully understood, or the pace in class is too fast. Other times, the desire is simply to avoid doing homework late in the evening with a tired child and tired parents. We offer high-quality academic support that helps address both situations.
Our experienced teachers work with the child individually, precisely identifying areas where additional help is needed. Each topic is explained clearly and comprehensibly so that the child truly understands it, rather than just mechanically solving tasks. Homework is done together with a specialist who guides, explains, and adapts the approach specifically to the child’s needs. This way, the academic load becomes manageable, evenings become calmer, and the child goes to school with greater confidence, knowing they have support if difficulties arise.
School preparation
School preparation is much more than just learning letters and numbers – it is a child’s holistic development that ensures their readiness for new challenges. It includes language skills, reading and counting abilities, fine motor skills development, and sustained attention. At Education Station, in our school preparation lessons, we help the child build a solid foundation on which to start their school journey significantly easier – without anxiety, with confidence in their abilities, when developed self-regulation skills and already acquired learning habits allow them to integrate more easily into the classroom environment, keep up with the learning process, and achieve success from the very first days of school.
